Government, senate and parliament . . .

Haha.. Today I am going lean a bit towards the legal stuffs after I find my old textbook of Pengajiam Am (, one of the core subject in STPM .

This is the Putrajaya Goverment building ... I don't know what it is called .

Anyway, I learned that there are 6 different major kinds of Government in current and past.

Despotism
Government controlled by one tyrannical ruler with absolute powers.
Example: North Korea

Side notes: It always amazes me on how 1 man tyrannical as Kim Jong Il can control the whole North Korea into become isolated states meanwhile the people inside North Korea suffers and can stay quiet without revolt.

Republic
Government controlled by elected representatives who may (or may not) represent the will of the people.
Example: Ancient Greece

Side notes: Ancient Greece requires every citizens to become head of senate every few years and their title maybe relinquished to another citizens.

Monarchy
Government controlled by a single hereditary ruler.
Example: England / Pre-Cultural Revolution China

Side notes: There is a phrase from my Grandfather a long long time ago:
" We rejoice under the rule of good kings and we revolt under the rule of bad king. "
So if a King is rule with wisdom, we will rejoice and we surely can topple the king who ruled with tyranny. You can see how many dynasty China had in thousands of year.

Democracy
Government whose rulers are elected by all Citizens and represent the will of the people.
Example: Many parts of the world

Socialism
Government wherein production and distribution of goods are determined by equity rather than market principles.
Example: China, Cuba or anywhere that still practices communism

Side notes: Even in Communism states, equality still do not exist as there are rich and poor people. Lessons of life ? Life is never fair and equal, young man.

Capitalism (Yeah, that is a type of government too... )
Government wherein production and distribution of goods are determined by a free and competitive market.
Example: America

Side notes: Thank you , fat cat and hedge fund managers who continues to siphon dry the wealth meanwhile many people are still jobless .

Hmm.. I still thinks that Malaysia is a great country to lives in despite all the turmoils and chaos. Let's be more appreciative people. Without the Government, we may not be achieved as much as it should be. Think of it carefully: the free educations, police patrol, free government healthcare [RM 1], subsidized commodities and services and public university fees.  Okay, although it is by taxpayer money but you may also benefit some of it ah ...

P.S: I am not pro or anti Government. Just a normal people who tends to appreciates every little things in life.
