How tablet was made ?

Tablet... When Microsoft introduced it in 2001 but the response were not very well received back then.
However, 9 years later, the Steve Jobs introduced the OMFG-it-is-iPad, it literally taken world by storm !

I oversimplify the creation process of the tablets

(1) Designer
- The product designers designs the aesthetic looks of the tablet look and feel like where home button is located etc . . . ( Please Apple fanboys, stop complaining about how other tablets "copy" the iPad'copyrighted' shapes, other manufacturers also try with other shapes too but it looks weird )
- There are also hardware designer who designs how antenna would look like and whether it would receive calls, SMS, FM and even the 3G/4G wave signals and also the handles how the components should be located inside the tablet
-And again, there are software designer who dictates how the stock operating system GUI look likes including the minute details such as gap between the applications icons !
Sometimes, these fellows will make the smartphone lag (as in :P Nokia)

(2) Engineer
- Literally, the guys who put all the hardware and operating system specifications together
- Examples, like software/embedded/firmware engineers which will made the OS (like Android, iOS, Symbian, Window Phone etc ... ) to be compatible to the hardware
-Also there are test engineer who test the hardware and software that work correctly as it should
-Product development engineers well ... erhem.. their job scopes is very wide...

(3) Production
-This is where the prototype tablet will be mass produced to cater the world wide demands
-Usually, the components inside tablets is manufactured in various parts of the world but the final assemblies will be done in China (most of the time)

Internet in 60 secs ...

Internet as we know it was developed out from the USA DoD as a meant to create a reliable network to prevent the collapse of medium of communication in event of nuclear attack from Soviet Russia. Since then , the Internet as we know it just grown from leap and bounds with helps like Tim-Bernes-Lee and other giant computing figure (but don't always credit Stevie please).

When I was small, I still remembered of tinkering around with <HTML> tags in Geocities [Which are effectively shut down ~ 2 years ago] and then came along Friendster , Myspace and later Facebook which I spent most of time in right now =_= . [But I now can qualified to be called almost detox from Facebook Addictions - After I found Blogger to share some random stuffs I found in Internet].

But strangely, as we know it the Internet grows days by days and it almost feels that it won't stop growing as we reaches billions upon billions of bytes of Internet, almost to a point where we should be asking "Will Internet ever stop growing one day ?"

hey, I bet it almost one minutes had passed since you read the random babbling above ... So what happens if you passed 1 minute marks , what is exactly happening?

Today is #Op Facebook

Today is November 5th where supposedly FB will suffer the massive DOS (Denial Of Service) attack
But currently... nothing happened as far as I know it is 9pm already and nothing happened ...

Why driving in Penang will be very vexing for non-Penangites ?

That's IT ! I am fed up with Penang traffics and their dangerous style of driving !

Obviously, this does not apply to all Penang - lang , but many of them committed at least 1 or more offences ....

(1) Why MPV when you drive alone ?

Plus, I found out it is either Penang people are too rich to buy it, or feel the petroleum is very cheap or
got a team of football kids, either wise, why they drive freaking MPV when there is only one people
driving in the car.

(Kudos to people who ride to Penang Free Ride to factory Areas a.k.a Rapid Park n Ride which are
totally for FREE , 5 working days a week*)

*Except on public holidays

(2) People do not respect the traffic lights

General rules:
(1) Green means go
(2) Yellow means ready to stop
(3) Red means stop

Penang general rules:
(1) Green means go
(2) Yellow means press oil
(3) 2 seconds after red, press oil faster
(4) Red, weave into opp incoming traffic if opportunities arises

Note: There is certain junction/roundabout in Penang where the car will start honk you like crazy if the
red light is 3-2 seconds to green lights. Madness, I says ...

(3) My grandfather road syndrome

Simply said, the this-is-my-grandfather-road attitude is prominent in Penang such as ...
(a) A big car driving on the motorcyclist lane just to cut thru the queue
(b) Motorcycle or even sometimes Kancil can drive opposite of traffic flows (extreme side of the road)
(c) One big MPV "double lane" the already narrow road making congestion worst
(d) Want to turn right but keep on the left of the road and then suddenly swerve to the right when about
to reach intersections
(e) Worst offender of all, suddenly opening the car door when parked at the side of the road without
giving a f*** to the incoming cars/motors from behind

(4) Road sign , what is a road sign ?

According to Wiki , " It says no stopping at the road sign where this sign is displayed. "
Singapore road sign is same as Malaysia, so don't say that we use different road signs.

Due to this inconsiderate people parking on roadside for free instead of parking in designated car park for fee, many Penang roads which are usually 2 lanes become 1 lane only due to inconsiderate parking.

(5) Honk, if you are Penang-ites !

If you are turning in round-about and you drive slowly to avoid overturned , people will honk .
If it is raining, and you drive ~30 - 40km/h , people will honk
If the red light is about to turn green in 2-3 secs, people will honk
If you stop in front of zebra crossing to let some school kids cross the road, people will honk

=_= Ughh... There is many more but I am just lazy to talk about it

Two sides to a story ...

*You may bash me for such a "bias" view but hey, it is *truth* after all...

What boils my blood up to this point a week ago is when current Penang CM says that something like

In Johor, if you are a Singaporean, you are likely to get kidnapped. You ask any Singaporeans, they would know, but you don’t have that problem when you come to Penang

Tsk ...If you ever say it during conference, shame on you.

Before going on, my pop and mom teaches me since when I am a tiny wee lad.
Always listen to both sides of story ...

After few days, the CCWM (Curi Curi Wang Malaysia) started mud slinging on so called Johor Bahru safety by sharing the articles .

Wow... The comments followed in this articles were especially geared to mudslinging the safety of Johor Bahru area.

I use my Google-Fu to search the Malaysiakini and independent news outlet for this particular PDRM incident for extra credibility but no results avail.

But hey, if this so called "Janet Teow" dare to complain in FB and post the injustice but she does not go to Malaysiakini to "address her son grievance of cruelty of PDRM". Somehow I feel this articles is worth only a pinch of salt.

Sure, she posted the boy is being beaten badly but if the incident is real, why not post the police record together. (I know the guy got belasah, but where is the Janet Teow report about the bus incident.)

There is one proverb when I learnt in primary school ...
"Berani kerana benar, Takut kerana salh"

Haiz... What I want to tell that even though sometimes in life, if you are blinded of hatred towards certain entity, no matter what good or bad they had done, you will still criticize them.

Pipe Bomb Here !

During the zombie apocalypse game such as Left 4 Dead, the most awesome weapon that I like in Left 4 Dead is the pipe bomb.

If I am not mistaken, the manual is leaked from US military survivor manual. But who cares where it is leaked from. You just know that you know how to make a pipe bomb !

This instruction manuals may be illegal in certain countries but I just share it out for educational purposes.
There are some disclaimer about making a pipebomb.

(1) First, you may do it but please double check with your state and your local province law before you even attempt on making this.It is probably mostly illegals but check it to be on safe side.
(2) Safety precautions, you may not want the things to explode when you hold it, do you ?

House of Dead 4 Arcade - Perfect Score

This is maybe a quit bit old , but letme show off the "Perfect" score that I achieve ! :]

Okay, the game play mechanic is different than the previous House of The Dead because the character now uses sub machine guns instead of revolver already. :] Hehe ...

There are a total of 6 stages in House of the Dead 4.

Techniques of Computer Virus Detection

Antivirus scanners is simply described as a program that look for sequences of bytes extracted from computer viruses in files and in memory to detect them. This is one of the most popular methods to detect computer viruses, and it is reasonably effective. Nowadays, state-of-the-art antivirus software uses a lot more attractive features to detect complex viruses, which cannot be handled using first-generation scanners alone.

(1) String scanning

String scanning uses an extracted sequence of bytes (strings) that is typical of the virus that is not likely to be found in clean programs. The sequences extracted from computer viruses are then organized in databases, which the virus scanning engines use to search predefined areas of files and system areas systematically to detect the viruses in the limited time allowed for the scanning. Indeed, one of the most challenging tasks of the antivirus scanning engine is to use this limited time (typically no more than a couple of seconds per file) wisely enough to succeed.

(2) Wild Cards

A wildcard scan allows to skip bytes or byte ranges, and some scanners also allow regular expressions.

To simplify how wild scan works, here is a simple illustration .

The string below is a pseudo virus code

DEAD 1984 ??69 %2 BE99

(1) Try matching DE, if found continue.
(2) Try matching AD, if found continue.
(3) Try matching 19, if found continue.
(4) Try matching 84, if found continue.
(5) Ignore this byte.
(6) Try matching 69, if found continue.
(7) Try to match BE in any of the following 3 positions and if found continue.
(8) Try matching 99, if found report infection.

If you had some basic computer science knowledge, you can see that wildcard strings are often supported for nibble bytes, which allow more precise matches of instruction groups. Some early-generation encrypted and even polymorphic viruses can be detected easily with wildcard-based strings.

(3) Mismatches

Mismatches allow N number of bytes in the string to be any value, regardless of their position in the string.

For example, the " 01 02 03 04 05 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10 "string with the mismatch value of 2 would match any of the following patterns.

01 02 03 04 05 06 AA 08 BB 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10
01 CC 03 04 05 06 07 DD 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10
EE 02 03 04 05 FF 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10

Mismatches are especially useful in creating better generic detections for a family of computer viruses.

The downside of this technique is that it is a rather slow scanning algorithm.

(4) Hashing





Hashing is a common techniques to speed up the search algorithms. It can be done using 16-bits or 32-bits words of scan string. Antivirus software can even control the hashing better by selective of what the start bytes of the string will contains such as avoids first byte that are common in normal files such as 0X00H. The antivirus with further efforts can typically start with common bytes, hence effectively reducing the numbers of matches. To be extremely fast, some antivirus does not provide wildcard support. A very "exotic" hash able allows wild cards in the string but it uses two hash table and corresponding linked list of strings. Hence, the first table usually contains index bits to the second table .

(5) Start and End Scanning

Start and End scan (a.k.a Top-Tail scan) is used to speed up virus detection by scan the top and the end of file, rather than the entire file. For example, 2kb , 4kb and even 8kb of file scanned for each possible location. As CPU speed become faster, the scan is becoming typical I/O bound as to optimize scan speed, the number of disk read need to be lessen. The early viruses is prefixed, appended and replaced the host files making start and end scan method becomes fairly popular in the early days.

(3) Even if you managed to run very *far* away , you will still be hooked back to his side. Ughh.... Like five fishes can be hooked back...

In a skilled hand, all 5 heroes can be pawned all at once using Hook.

During his life, a butcher only sees animal he slaughters in this way . . .

In his Butcher incarnate, he only see this ...

So , he sees it isn't much different to slaughter the heroes as slaughtering the animals. . .
