Reanimate Dead Mall

Today , I am going to talk about dead mall. Which is not related to the certain Left 4 Dead 2 campaign at all

( Not anything related to my article although I enjoy this part of campaign )

( It's more about this, the abandoned , unused ,derelict , ghost mall)

So what is all this dead mall is about ? To cut it short I copy/paste Wikipedia articles on it.

" Dead mall is a shopping center with a high vacancy rate or a low consumer traffic level, or that is dated or deteriorating in some manner."

Seems now my sleepy town also have 3 dead malls due to fierce competition from Carrefour , Pacific , The Store , Jusco and Tesco. But we are not going to mourn the demise of the dead mall but rather how to revitalize it.

(1) Indoor urban theme paintball sport.

A lot of outdoor theme paintball sports center has opened but none had the appeal to the urban themed (a.k.a indoor theme). The plenty of space , the counter-strike atmosphere should make any extreme paintballist jumped with joy. Plus you can paint the whole building for free. :P

(2) Community services

Sometimes now and then, community oriented services such as indoor sports stadium, wedding hall, community college classrooms, libraries, golden senior clubhouse , nonprofit arts groups (gallery / museums) and places of worship can benefit the most from the cheap rent and plus you no need to search for parking again as it is part of the package

(3) Ampli Theater

Cinemas inside the mall can be retrofitted into ampli-theater as it is cheap for traveling art performers to perform their arts there.

(4) Education center

The private college can take up the whole dead mall and refurbish to become lecture hall, auditorium, lab , etc... and also divide/convert parts of it to become hostel that can be rented towards the students as well as parking places.

(5) Office spaces

As the rent of spaces becomes high , this out of traffic will provide some soft landings for SME (Small Medium Enterprise) or start up company to rent this dead mall as they will be lower in cost or the heck of it, buy the whole unit . :D Kakaka ..

Well, I guess I am pretty run out of ideas. What do you think ?.
