Mask , Just the reflections upon our daily life. . .

 

 

What commonality that you find in 5 pictures above ? 

If you say mask , you are correct . Everyday , we can see other or even ourself are wearing different kind of masks to adapt to different situations in our life . 

Some mask that we wear may help us to get through life , and some mask are the concealment to our true self , some are to hide us form our true motives and some are for sake of saving faces.  We as human have pretty much problems on our own . So each of us wear a mask or many masks for different reasons. Such as , the mask can be analogized to the barrier of our life which do not let us pursue the happiness of our life due to unspeakable reasons. Therefore we are indefinitely confined within our barrier unless we had the courage to reach the lock and unlock it to the freedom and happiness just like The Man in Iron Mask. 

However , sometimes mask can be used for good purpose like the comic book superheroes who did good things anonymously liken to as the unsung heroes in our daily lives or a great philanthropist donate a great sum of money to charities without exposing their identity

Many times , mask is also a reflections on our modern society  where we pretty much cover up on the ugly sides of ours and only show the beauty side. Downside is when we are facing internal crisis , we show to the world the  no-problems-at-all attitude which will lead to our downfall . 

We also sometimes forced to wear mask if our country is ruled by totalitarian ruler , where we need to wear a mask of total absolute consented with new ruler and bow to the regime in sake of protecting our self and family.


We sometimes want to boast of our wealth status due to envy/jealousy of other people wealth usually will boast what is normally out of reach by the our current financial status and it usually will lead to downfall even more because we buy the things that we don't need. 

Sometimes , we wear a mask in order to save our loved ones from the painful bitter truth  but we dare not reveal the truth as the truth will hurt them even more . Also we wear a strong front mask to conceal our grief in our failure , lost of the beloved ones , the down time in our life , etc . . . even though we are crumbling inside without letting those closest to us knew about it . 

In Chinese culture , there has been a "saving face" culture to prevent us bring humiliation to self and ancestor  . Therefore sometimes we also need to eat humble pie and wear a mask in order to save us face in embarrassing situations . 

 Many people feel compelled to wear masks with their partners. They cannot risk the loss and break up. They recall a few times when they dared to say the truth, and were often left with an awkward silence or an inane remark and a regret that they had not kept their mouths shut. Girls and guys alike often create an image of themselves that is far from the person they actually are. They put on a mask that shows their partner a different face, with an exceptional personality altogether. They feign interests. They play a part they dislike only to please and keep their partner. Their actions and words is all pretense. It may be out of love, but when it shapes the relationship it's no longer sincere. Love is not faking your identity for someone. You're trapped inside the mask. Some of us burn out from the effort of trying to maintain a facade. We end up missing out on real relationships. They either fall in love with the mask, or we don't let them get close enough to see the real person hidden beneath the mask.

I believe everyone is not perfect and at times we are forced to wear masks even though we don't want to and also we have been typically wear at least one of different kinds of mask for occasion should they lest arrived in our life.
