Ragging culture, particular in my university is virtually non - existent. Why ? Because
(i) The place is damn ulu ... Damn , our major residential college is also named Kolej Kediaman Wang Ulu and that kind of ulu-ness make the student is a bit boring as well.
(ii) Chinese particularly are quite isolated to themselves and play and played lots of Dota especially on weekends. If not, they just only bother to chat up with same batch or seniors beauties. Unless ... the junior is prettier than the seniors.
(iii) We had so much works to do unlike in UM where I think they are too damn free until the students elections can be chaotic
(iv) It is the new institution just only 8 years old and I think most of the seniors here are approachable but they just like to isolate them self nia...
Cut to chase, I just shows my personal picks of few top skills that you wish you really had in university.
Bristleback / Craggy Exterior
Expect to be back stabbed even by your most trusted friends a lot. Therefore, it is better to grow some sharp spines and some tough skins in case that they try to back stab you as you will reduce the pain of disbelief and also if they continue to back stab at least you can payback their deeds in albeit a much more subtle way.
Replicate
Although I do not advocate copying bulat bulat of your course mates work, it is one of the skill you can learn/perfect in the university. There is a thing called smart copying. But, I advices you not to use this skill too much as you will suffer a lot in final later on. Just once a while will do as long as you don't depend fully on this skill too much.
Phase Shift
Sometimes after being in heaps of homeworks, you just wished that you disappear into another dimension. :) This is the skills is just for you but you can't evade the reality forever as you need to come back to real world no matter how tough or how much your assignment is. Maybe they aren't as bad as you think.
Divided We Stand
There are times in your life there are so much things to do. Assignments, mini project and such. Hey, since life is full of responsibilities , divide yourself like Naruto's Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and let your clones do your menial work so that you can focus on the more important tasks in the hand. You will encounter this a lot in university especially during the last month of the semester. :)
P.S : I choose this over Mirror Image skill because if one of them is killed, the rest of the clones will be killed as well.
Just like in real life, if you screw up in one part of the stuffs you do, it may be implicated towards the other stuffs as well.
Hand Of God
Sometimes, when all things failed. ( You will encounter it many times just as Murphy Law stated ! ) You just wished someone would dependable could help you? Such as reach your hand toward the sky and summon the hand of god to clean up the mess. As if the God would help you ... :P
Global Silence / Silence
In university, you will meet all sorts of wacky characters.Some are the lovable type but some is just downright disgusting. One of them are the arrogant type who boast boast and boast all day long, so in effect just cast either of the spells depending on the situations and let see whether they just can open up their mouth lah . Hahahaha ...
Stone Gaze
If you had been forced choose lazy group members as your mini project team member.If they cooperate with you, that is okay but what if they play DotA all night long instead of working the projects together with you ? Hmm.. Instead of quarrellings non-stop for few hours. How about you show the cold stone stare for a few seconds. It might be a more effective methods . -_- #
Doppelwalk
There are many times where many activities clashed at the same time such as your best friend birthday is today but there are some minor test on the next day and you must also completed your project by today. If you had a doppelwalk, you can put your shadow clones to replace your presence and you will invisibly stealth away to do your works. How I wish had it...
The life in university is not a bed of roses therefore be prepared to expect a lot of trials in university. :( Saying this, I miss the fun parts of my first 3 years in university. :( .
On the side notes, I might not be blogging as often while I am in internship anymore when the new semester starts.
