A trip to Arau C Mart

Tonight is a very interesting night as me and my friends decided to go "jalan jalan and makan angin" for a while after lapse of test 1 season to go to unexplored part of Perlis after being here for 4 years :  Arau. If you don't know the direction to go there, don't worry, you can follow the signboard which leads to a building named Kompleks Arau. If you can see that complex, congrats, you had reached the C Mart(Supposedly is somewhere very near to train station located in Arau) ^_^

Although it is not very up to standard to Penang Island,QB, but hey cut some slack, will ya ? This is Perlis, the most ulu-est place in Malaysia. You should be laughing out loud since there are some daredevils risk to invest in this place. Not forgetting the recently opened Secret Receipe, I-Box Karaoke and some more the Perlis Bowling.

The interior inventory placement is quite ok but don't put high expectation on the items prices: Eventhough it says "Hari - Hari Harga Rendah !"

Anyway, to cut long story short, I present you the pictures that I had taken in the Arau C-Mart.
(P.S: As with other post, double click the pics to view large version if you had fast high speed Internet)

(The trademark of the future popular hypermarket that you will see in Arau if the Ulu Pauh of Unimap campus is completed)

(The main cashier counter gate that you will see upon entering 1st floor of complex. And there are 28 ? counters for the payment . It is even larger than Tesco in Sungai Dua lagi. Hohohoho ....
Proceed to far left to enter)

(Another environmental gimmick, just wanna earn another 20 cents from us eh? Thought saw last of your kind in Penang but you somehow managed creep to Perlis  too... )

(The health section along with my 2 friends inside the pictures . ;) )

(Dunno why pic is very blur but here is toy section, got some Hot Wheels, Hasbro and Mattel sold here too ... along with my another friend in this picture)

(Footwear section here... Hmm I must train myself harder to hold my camera phone more steadier!)

(Wear department ... Or maybe I am just in bokeh photography)

(Car accessories department and caught the staffs happily chit chatting . ^_^ )

(Another car accessories sections)

(Souvenier section)

(Arghh .. Even Kangar Aneka don't have it. Maybe this is one of a senior FYP projects being commercialized? Who knows?)
(Family Entertainment Center. Don't expect teens hang out here. Why ? Cause the most arcade game are the old one such as Metal Slug, Sango, Megaman ,Old Tekken etc etc )

(Expect small kids but no teens here :D)

(Although the sign shows Karaoke and Cinema, sorry guys; There are no cinema or karaoke here yet !)

That's pretty much about the newest hypermarket C Mart. Hope can drop by here anytime again soon ....

Holiday mood but still in busy mood ...

Hooray , my ζœ€ζœŸεΎ… holiday (Merdeka, Raya and Mid Sem) is coming soon, in fact it is tomorrow is "unofficial" holiday  . . .
But hor first thing first, before I can head all out.
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . .
. . . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . .
. . . .
. . .
. .
.

nowadays we are  busy with many things with no end in the sight  . . . T_T ...

Never mind about that though as I had something to occupied my mind for this few days of holiday

1- The "Insane" Computer Architecture lab assignment which drove us siao liao hohohoho
Why ? We need to design " open ended " bus implementation (Can support up to 32 / 64 devices lagi ... =_= Hopefully our endless hours of toiling was worth it (measly 5 marks[I also appreciate that 5 marks of course]  T_T)

2- FYP - No need to say it of course.. :P

3- Study and revision included for many of this sem subject

4- The countless assignment from our lecturer lor ... Haiz .... = =

5-In "unofficial" holiday also got class and lab as usual too ... Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Which ultimately leads to ....

(Almost fall sick today due to homework and Perlis heatwave measures at 41.5 celcius degree [According to Kangar famous temperature signboard] @_@)

Super User Mode, Scilab and One Crazy Linux User ^_^ !

Frankly in my process of becoming Linux user, I have developed a pretty high level of imagination .
Do you still remember last time I give the Scilab Tritytech toolbox provided by our uni that can plot the phase ? It works very well in Window but it doesn't work at all in Linux , haiz... (I will show you screenshot to prove it or if any computer genius can provide a workaround? Helps will be much appreciated !!! )

But anyway, i unveil the secret of moving the files into the user restricted files access using su command

First, opens up your Terminal program (If you had Linux, U know where it is!)

(1) Type sudo su to let you gain access as SUPER USER ! ! ! ! ^_^  v
(2) If you are logged in as Admin , skip to step 3. If not type the password for the Ubuntu login system
Thats all, and you log in as root user ( Root > Admin in terms of access privileges )

And from here, you can play whatever you want with the files as you log in.
Below is some of the commands that let you tweak what you want . No time to provide example though ...
View Directories: - ls
The ls (LiSt) lists files in different colors with full formatted text
Create Directories: - mkdir (directory name)
The mkdir (MaKeDIRectory) command will create a directory.
Change Directories: - cd (/directory/location)
The cd (Change Directory) command will change from your current directory to any directory you specify.
Copy Files/Directories: - cp (file or directory name) (to directory or filename)
The cp (CoPy) command will copy any files you specify. The cp -r command will copy any directories you specify.
Remove Files/Directories: - rm (file or directory name)
The rm (ReMove) command will delete any filename you specify. The rm -r command will remove any directory you specify, and all its contents.
Move/Rename Files/Directories: - mv (file or directory name)
The mv (MoVe) command will move/rename any file or directory you specify.
( T_T ... The proof that Scilab Toolbox isnt a much great use for Linux enviroment )
UPDATE: Just find a more easier method to modify files.
Besides using the command in terminal shown in above, you can use the GUI (aka Windows Interface) to modify the files. How ?
Just type gksu nautilus and you are very sure what to do from here.

My uh .. weekly updates 3

Man oh man, this is the one of the busiest week this semester, 3 tests on 3 consecutive nights ( combo killed!) , 2 half unfinished lab reports , 1 crazy mini project (Not forgetting to mention FYP)and some assignment to do. And this is the lifestyle of final year ? Nope ...
(Updates: Lab reports finished already ! :D )
You can say that we are onto academic stuffs 95% of time vs FYP 5% of our time. Wait you got to hear more hilarious stuffs.
You know what is worst, "they" demand that it is not advisable to do FYP in sem break ( What the hell ?) and want to see our prototype by this semester (Who on earth can do complete FYP on 1 sem, nutheads !) and there is no break during holiday too cos of unnecessary short semester ...

Yes, we got no semester break yup NO SEMESTER BREAK  even for 1 freaking day !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You still don't know why semester break is so that important, it literally means Christmas holiday gone , CNY is also gone (Heard got something serious is happening at around that time!) . You can celebrate Raya but we cant celebrate our festivals lor. Menang semua liao! So, we cannot celebrate CNY or Christmas yah, Great, just great ! We are just like your white guinea pigs.

(P.S: Don't you ever say I failed any subjects and I retake it, I will smash your head with frying pans !)

We have been busy like bees. Just like old times, sleep from 2am and wake up at 6 am . Not complaining but hey after slugging for 3 years, can you cut up some slack for us ? Damn you !  . . .
(Yah, like this little guy here, but our beezee ness doesn't reward us with honey in the end !)

Heh ... Thanks to someone in upper echelon trying to cover up the accreditation status and put the "propaganda" about how untrue the situations is, why don't you just admit there is something wrong with accreditation status right from beginning and YOU , yes YOU * (* anyone who is responsible for this mess)  just *fix* our problems by *sacrifices* us to top up our credit hour with redundant subjects. I thought we were just missing "6 credit hours, but we need to take up to 9 extra credit hours? Where is the logic reasons behind this ? =_= Damn it the screwed up UniMap system.

Heh ... Enough of that accreditation stuffs, I am getting more and more disgust of my once beloved uni.

(P.S: Don't say I spend much time blogging, you @$$%&0!3 . Yah, I know engineer suppose to be problem solver but hey this is not our problems to begin with, it is your inefficiency in dealing with this accreditation matters and you let it drag for 7-8 years now)

On more lighter notes, I make minor breakthrough in the FYP, I manage to installed Linux Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.0.0.4 versions and also to installed Java Netbeans which are going to be my best friends for the FYP period. Plus I haven't touch not even 1 page yet on the 3 Java books that I borrowed from library yet . T_T )

Gonna updates my bits by bits coding here.

Oh, one more things, recently I am unto Starcraft 2 ( I just play whenever I need a breather !). The game is nice for singleplayer story but hey I hate your non support for LAN! Not everyone got the high broadband speed to access Battlenet 2.0 . T_T. Gonna review the game if got spare time. :P

And in this holy fasting months and unholy hungry ghost festivals is making me hungry all the time XD Hahahaha ......................

Wishing all the Muslims celebrates coming Hari Raya Puasa . :)

Ciao and see you soon !

6 words that killed resume

1. Accomplished. Yes, we all know every job seeker is accomplished, otherwise you would have been fired from every job you’d ever had if you never accomplished anything. Instead try: peak performer.
2. Results-Driven. Everyone’s professional resume starts out with “Results-driven (insert your job title here)”. The only problem is, in the job-search game you don’t want to sound like everyone else; you want to stand out from the crowdInstead try: performance-driven.
3. Successful. This is another overused word. We all want to communicate how successful we’ve been so a new employer will think highly of us, but consider some alternative wording versus coming out and saying “hey there, I’m a success.” Instead try: best in class, award-winning, or top performer.
4. Skillful or Skilled. These are so boring; I hate to see resumes with these words on them. I’m sure you can come up with something much more creative for your resume. If you can’t think of anything, try my recommendations, or if you don’t like them use a thesaurus. Instead try: talented, sharp, or resourceful.
5. Problem-Solver. Isn’t this a given? We’re ALL problem solvers; if you’re human, you’re a problem solver. Does it really need to be said on your resume? I think not. Instead try: troubleshooter, forward-thinking, or visionary leader.
6. And last but not least Dedicated and Dependable. Again I have to say boring, boring, boring. Spice up your resume with something creative. Instead try: high potential, quality-driven, or dynamic.

The other side of my emo-self

Play this nice flash games, it is another example of video games can be an art. Particularly for the emo guys ...

http://www.kongregate.com/games/2DArray/the-company-of-myself

Gonna review this games if I finish 20 levels...

Update : I add my own interpretation of the games.

Basically you play as a character who is a loner and the narrative story is seamlessly integrated to the games. The premise of the games is like Braid where you cooperate with the shadow of your former self to achieve the current mission objective.

The common recurrence to the games theme such as

Flower - Which represents the guilt and remorse of the narrator of watching her beloved died.

Green Box - It is the container which the narrator find the box big enough to hold his beloved to be buried

My best memories of Perlis

Hmph ... now is about 2.30 am ... There is a lot of things in my mind actually . . .

Mostly about FYP ...

But cut to chase, now I am in final year already and ... after 4 years staying in the most undeveloped place in Malaysia i.e: Perlis , I can pretty sure that I had some kind of sentimental attachment to this place . Now, before I gone from this place for good the next year, I gonna share what I will miss about Perlis uniqueness ?

1. Harum Manis

A rare kind of mangoes which is actually sweet and aromatic, hence the name. (P.S : It is yellowish green when it is ripe!) ! ! ! Actually discovered it's existence accidentally in 4th  semester when I and my besties were roaming randomly around Sungai Batu Pahat. If my memory served me correctly, the season is around May to July ... Hmm.. It is either between this 2 month. Then , you will see many roadside stall that will sell harum manis mangoes.

2. Sporting community

Maybe Perlis people really got nothing better to do till the level when there is a big Piala Liga Malaysia going on, there are bound to be many people there inside the Stadium Besar Perlis. Why don't they support EPL you might asked ? Probably the mountainous area in whole Perlis makes the Astro reception poor :( . Damn , don't talk about ESPN . . .

3. Beautiful scenery

Truly as the most undeveloped state in Malaysia probably had its advantages. :) I could post more pics about Perlis places but probably you can find more professional shoot in Internet.  This photo is taken at the junction between Wang Ulu and Sungai Batu Pahat.

4. Friendly people

Yup, the Perlis people is also friendly in a very caring way. Say that the famous Aunty Chin nasi ekonomi in Kangar, I love to eat there if I pass by Kangar between 11 am ~ 2pm ( This is the first time , there is eateries open at this time!) . This semester when I first time go there to eat, she greeted me.

Aunty Chin: Ah di ah , chin chiak ku boh kuah dio le lor. Puah ni chao kir di gor?
(Little kids, long time no see already. Where you had been for 1/2 year?)

Even for 1 semester I am in absent in Perlis , at least I know got someone misses me :P ... Blek ...

Oh and the Kangar, there is also another Thai Uncle in Huang Hol Foodcourt whom are very friendly also selling the fried rice. He always add  extra rice and prawns whenever I eat there.

5. Grape farm

You might not believed it but actually there is a grape farm existed in Perlis . You might say bluffing or stuffs like that but next time if you happened to be around Sungai Batu Pahat, you can take a round there and see the famous grape farms but it is not for public to enter and eat the grapes! That leaves you wondering how on Earth they manage to grow the grapes in hot and humid weather.

6.  Perlis Road is damn straight

The probability of being lost in Perlis is almost zero because all the roads as shown in pictures above without any sharp curves and shortcuts we are accustomed too ...

7. Relative safety in Perlis

In Perlis, it is relatively safe to put your stuffs in bus terminal w/o anyone watching it, even  a laptop bag especially in Kuala Perlis.  Come and see my laptop bag in the left pictures. :) You can relatively put your bag there and go to toilet for 5 mins and without worrying your stuff will go missing.

That's all on what I can think of Perlis uniqueness .

Good night all and hope this random bambling helps me sleep ....

zZZZ . . .

Update: This is my personal map of Perlis. Nothing fancy here but if you what so ever want to drop by Perlis, you can print out the map and ask taxi driver to take you there !

UPDATE: Include the must visit places in Perlis. Enjoy the map !

Useful DotA Hero tooltips

After I play DotA starting from the last Eul version, Icefrog remake the map pretty  well and even set itself as a standard .

However, due to too much features in the map, this is the some of the command that most player seldom use, (even the pro's one seldom know about  the "hidden" command of the tooltips that will let player know about the hero !)

P.S: Before entering command, make sure you put the minus "-" in front of the command, such as -ap, -ar, -sd.

gg             Displays bonus gold gained from Alchemist's Goblin Greed ability.
(P.S: Not that kind of gg ! So next time , you see your Alchemist allies type "gg", maybe they refer to this command!)

mines       Shows you how many Land Mines you have placed with Goblin   Techies
(P.S: This is maybe least used as the strategy changed, you need to replace the mine to overcome the tactics)

mc           Shows how many times you have Multicast with Ogre Magi
(P.S: My experience tells me you should at least get around 35++ in 45 mins games !)

fs             Shows how much bonus Strength you have gained from Flesh Heap with Pudge.
(P.S: With the combined Scepter ulti upgrades and the nerfed Flesh Heap, this command may be deleted !)

int            Shows how much bonus Intelligence you have gained from Last Word with Silencer
(P.S: May be good to know how much Int gained to see whether it is better off to buy +10 int items or the +35 int)

ha            Shows your average accuracy with Meat Hook or Hookshot

aa            Shows your average accuracy with Elune's Arrow
(P.S: Purely for showoffs !)

invokelist Display the orbs needed to invoke the spell for the Invoker !

By the way, I give up entirely on finding a leeway on displaying animated gifs w/o image hosting websites. Here is the first animated gifs hosted here ! :) Enjoy !

(Getting killed by Roshan is truly priceless ! ! ! but everything else, use MasterCard ! ! !)

Don't watch too much TV

I stumble another journal reporting that the kids who watches too much TV may be prone to swearing and engaging in violent behavior !

This pics of Pokemon is maybe why .....

So kids don't watch too much TV but play more Maple Story yah !

(Nah, I give 1 finger salute to you !)

Think dirty ?

Recently I had read an old journal in some journal websites states that men particularly thinks about sex every 59 seconds.

Makes you wonder why on Earth anyone would buy this articles for USD 200++ . If you had so much money, please buy relevant to engineering please.

Hey, nut now I know why ! See this pictures :

Now then , it makes you really looks to the keyboard. Do you ? ;) Have a nice day everyone !

Installing Trity Technologies Toolbox for Scilab

Recently, our conversion from Matlab to Scilab in Signal Processing Lab courses indicates that our uni is going cheapskate erm ... open source. That leaves us I am gonna to leave my MATLAB for good ...

(I really love Matlab that much until I can create "love" z-transformation equations out of it !)

Basically, you need to get the Trity Tech downloads from the lab assistant  and copy the whole folder in following directories

C:\Program Files\scilab-5.22\contrib

I am gonna to share the toolbox in the near future soon. Preferably in Mediafire .

If it is successfully copied, you can see the new messages each time you click the Toolbox

 Trity Technologies Toolbox for UNIMAP
Loading...
Contact Trity Technologies Sdn Bhd for
Scilab & Scicos Training and Consultation
at enquiry@tritytech.com

I am using Lucid Lynx currently but I had to figure out where to copy that folder to ...

Plus actually , I don't know what the toolbox is good for. But it lets u plot the discrete signal chart using 'stem' functions !

That's it for now !

UPDATE:

The download link for toolbox (Only 60kb)  is

http://www.mediafire.com/file/m48m55tpp5c8f0m/TrityTech.zip

UPDATE 2:

For Ubuntu user, go to filesystem/usr/share/scilab/contrib and copy the whole folder there . Make sure you have the priviliged access to copy the folder . :)

Another random post to read ? Come !
